This might sound like Marketing 101, but I’ll confess that it took me until I was three years into business to sit down and really answer the question “Who is your Ideal Client?”.
Any good marketing courses, webinars or masterclasses that I have attended all ask this question as their starter. And I did answer it before, but not in any great depth.
Then, this year after working with a coach to uplevel my business she encouraged me to delve a lot deeper than I did before. Going through that process has given me so much clarity on who I want to work with and what value I want to provide to them and their business.
Since doing it I am amazed at how much easier it has been to attract exactly the type of client that I imaged working with.
If you haven’t already, I would strongly encourage you to take some time and really get to know your ideal client.
Start by asking the following questions:
What age is your ideal client?
What is their gender?
What do they do for a living?
Where do they live?
What is their income?
Are they single? Married? Divorced?
Do they have kids? How many?
What are their values?
What is their daily routine?
What are their passions?
What motivates them?
Do they have hobbies?
How do they spend their down time?
What do they read?
Who do they follow on social media?
Who inspires them?
If you want to go a step further you might even give them a name and search for a stock photo of what you imagine they look like and allocate this image to them.
The more that you know about your ideal client the more effective you will be able to market to them. You will be more confident in creating content that really speaks to them.
