And that’s a wrap! Just like that another school year is over and the children are off for a loooooong 8 weeks! Without a doubt the best bit about being self-employed is having designed my business so that I could work minimal hours during the summer months.
If you’ve been busy getting things cleared up for the summer and haven’t had a chance to think about your content ideas for July yet, here are some significant dates that might help inspire you:
July is the month when we celebrate all the wonderful, unique independent retailers. Share the story of your own small business and how you got started. Or, share the love and shine a spotlight on a different small business in each of your emails this month.
Make someone smile today. Share a joke with your audience or ask them to share their favourite joke.
Do you have a story that you can share of a time when you or someone else forgot something significant? Share the story along with the lessons that you learnt from the experience.
Stars and stripes all the way! Is your audience in the US? Wish them a Happy Independence Day. If it’s relevant to your niche, share recipes / products that are inspired by our friends across the pond.
Tell your subscribers all about a cold hard truth they need to know about your industry.
Pop into your subscribers inbox today to say hello. If you’re planning an event, let people know how they can book and connect with others.
There has never been a more appropriate time to share your freebie! Got a new one you’ve been working on? Gift it to your existing audience as something you have been working on for them.
There are so many ideas for this on that will work perfectly for social media. Try ‘Share how you feel using emojis’, ‘What are your favourite emojis’, ‘Share your plans for today using only emojis’… great for engagement!
Share a lesson with your subscribers that your Grandma taught you.
Let your audience know about a time when you took a risk and decided you were going all in on something. How did it work out? What lessons did you learn?
This is another one that is great for socials. Share a story of a friend(s) who have helped you on your business journey or ask your audience to tag someone who has supported them.
Share your elevator pitch with your audience and if you’re feeling brave, record it as a video and send that out. It’s a great way to reintroduce yourself to your subscribers and remind them what you do.
If you struggle with content ideas each month, that’s just one of the topics that we cover in the Ultimate List Building Course! I’m so delighted to have launched the digital version of the course that you can work through at your own pace. You can learn more here.
